Greensboro, N.C. – The Meredith volleyball team closed out their regular season in a USA South tri-match at Greensboro College. The Avenging Angels beat Shenandoah 3-2 and lost to the host Pride 3-2.
In the first match against Shenandoah, Meredith took the 2-0 lead before Shenandoah won the next two. The Avenging Angels then took the fifth set 20-18. Meredith was led by Morgan White with 25 kills and 16 digs. Cori Spade added 14 kills and 11 digs.
The second match saw Meredith fall down 2-0 before taking the next two and pushing the match to the fifth set. White again led the way with Meredith, putting down 20 kills while Spade had 15 of her own.
Meredith is the #8 seed in the USA South and will next play on Tuesday at 5 p.m. against #9 Shenandoah at Christopher Newport in the play in game to the quarterfinals. With a win the Avenging Angels would then advance to play the Captains at 7 p.m. |
