Greensboro, N.C. - The Meredith soccer team overcame a first half deficit for the second time in two days to beat Greensboro 3-1. With the win, Meredith moves to the top of the USA South Athletic Conference standings with seven wins.
Greensboro (8-7-1, 5-2-1 USA South) scored the first goal with six minutes left in the first half on a goal from Michelle Reger.
Meredith (13-3-1, 7-1 USA South) scored three unanswered goals in the second half to take the game. Meredith's first goal was by Maggie Hart assisted by Alex Calvert three minutes into the half. Twelve minutes later Kimberly Williams scored the eventual game winner on an assist from Calvert. Then at the 72 minute mark, Calvert scored one of her own on an assist from Williams.
Meredith next plays Peace College at home on Friday at 7 p.m. in a Pink Game between the two cross-town rivals. |
