Artist Statement

Graphic design is a blend of art and communication. I have always enjoyed art and working with people. Creating design encompasses both of those aspects of my life. In my graphic design work, when applicable, I incorporate various concepts that have to do with my personal experiences such as life lessons, family, personal struggles, and subject matter that involve issues that have challenged me. These experiences usually revolve around growing up in the country, nature, my mother’s multiple sclerosis, and the appreciation for simplicity in life. In all circumstances, I want to create something inspirational and professional: a design that speaks to the client’s objective and reflects my personal influence. I apply persistence, thoughtful development, craftsmanship and uniqueness to every design problem. For my design approach, I rely heavily on the variety and emphasis of line, shape and form. I also enjoy using down-to-earth color schemes but ultimately choose the colors that correlate the strongest to the meaning of the message. These elements allow the audience to interact with the visual imagery and create a thought provoking, inspirational and professional design.
