Photography I introduces students to use of the camera, lighting, and composition; darkroom techniques for developing black and white film, making contact prints and enlargements; print finishing and presentation. Emphasis is on use of the photographic process as an artistic medium. As students advance into Photography II, they will extend the concepts and techniques of Photography I with an emphasis on the pursuit of photography as a fine art form. Photographic Techniques and Processes explores different photographic techniques and processes. Students work to achieve distinctive personal style for portfolio development in this phase of a photography student's studies. In Portfolio Photography, emphasis is placed on the preparation and presentation of a professional slide portfolio.
