Through design emphasis and direction, students learn in an introduction to traditional metal techniques, the use of tools, equipment, processes, materials, methods, and techniques related to the fabrication of small-scale objects and/or jewelry. The course covers design layout, pattern-making, sawing, piercing, soldering, finishing, photo-etching, casting, anodic oxidation, and selected processes.
