Students are
introduced to techniques of surface design on fabric. Through production
of one-of-a-kind textile pieces, students learn fabric processes such as
dyeing, painting, stamping, stenciling, screen printing, serti, batik, tie-dye
and digital printing on cloth. The course also includes study of contemporary
and historical textiles from around the world. Often, the class includes
guest artist visits and lectures as well as visits to local fiber exhibitions.
Advanced work with special studies and a textile study group is available.
