Brandi Bowen—Graphic Design Major. Working as a Graphic Designer for DF Creative, the creative services agency for Drucker & Falk in Raleigh. She also has a successful company, Creativ*Bee Designs, (www.creativbeedesigns.com and www.creativbeedesigns.blogspot.com) which she started in 2003 and now has a studio space inside of 311 Galleries & Studios (311 West Martin Street, Downtown Raleigh, NC 27601). One of her scarf designs was featured in Raleigh's Skirt magazine as a "Must Have" fashion find. Bowen also works as a freelance graphic designer and is currently designing for InterAct of Wake County. She is scheduled to have a solo show in January 2010 featuring her paintings in Columbia, SC. Rebecca Rosal—Graphic Design Concentration. Is living in Charlotte and working as a graphic designer with ABZ Design Group.

Sarah Richards Suits—Graphic Design Concentration. Currently working as a Graphic Designer in the Marketing & Communications Department at King College in Bristol, TN.

Kaitlin Wilson-Bryant—Graphic Design Concentration. Has completed her MFA at RIT and has been hired by Piedmont College in Demorest/Athens Georgia to teach and coordinate the graphic design and photography programs. Erin (Dinwiddie) Smith—Art Education, K–12 license, teaching at Patton High School as the 3D art instructor.

Jeanine Henderson—Studio Art Concentration. Will enter graduate school at NC State School of Design, fall 2005.

Christi Koenig—Studio Art Concentration. Will be entering graduate school at UNC-Greensboro for a Masters in Studio Art, fall 2005.

Cathie Lawler—Studio Art Concentration. Started a job at Artsource Gallery, summer 2005.

Rebekah Meek—Graphic Design Concentration. Working as a Graphic Designer at the Duke University Department of Theater Studies and is a candidate for her MFA in Design + Technology at Parsons School of Design in New York City. She also has a successful freelance graphic design business called QuickBrownFox Studio (www.quickbrownfoxstudio.com) and recently collaborated on an iPhone app called Tally-O (www.tally-o.com).

 

Natalie Nobles—Graphic Design Concentration. Graphic artist with Renaissance Creative Media.

Holly Schmidt—Graphic Design & Photography Concentrations. MFA in graphic design from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), August 2008. Starting a graphic design position at the Telfair Museum of Art in Savannah, serving as solo designer. Worked with Shannon Johnston (as editor) on MFA thesis titled Chaos, which is currently on exhibition at the Red Gallery in Savannah.

Bethany Hall Stephens—Studio Art Concentration. Teaching art at Harrels Christian Academy, grades 6–12.

Erin Miller—Graphic Design Concentration. Graphic artist with Food Lion in Salisbury.

Allison Harmon Callis—Ceramics/Sculpture Concentration. Habilitation technician for the Easter Seal's UCP North Carolina working with children with disabilities.

Katherine Weaver—Graphic Design Concentration, Art History. Just finished her first year of the graduate program in art history at Rutgers University, where she will concentrate on contemporary photography. She is engaged to be married May 2008.

Class of 2003

Stacy (Brent) Graham—Graphic Design Concentration. Married December 16, 2006 to Jeremy Graham. Is currently working as a Public Affairs Specialist in Baumholder, Germany.

Jamie Burke—Art Education, K–12 Art Licensure. Teaching at Franklin Academy, a Wake County K–8 Charter School in Wake Forest.

Emily Cash-Wilmoth—Graphic Design Concentration. Graduated May 2007 from UNC-Chapel Hill with an MFA. Has been awarded the Regional Emerging Artist in Residence at ArtSpace July 07–January. 08. Currently the Visiting Assistant Professor of painting, drawing and graphic design at Duke University and Professor of Digital Media at School of Communication Arts. Emily has also has shown her work in Nashville at Dangenart Gallery and in Sept. will be in a show at Union Street Gallery in Chicago. Website: emilycash.com.

Dana (Clemmons) Babbs—Graphic Design Concentration. Designer with NC State School of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Married Nicholas Babbs on June 12, 2004.

Allison Eargle—Graphic Design Concentration. Currently working with the Department of Public Instruction (North Carolina Public Schools) as a graphic designer.

Sarah Gaither Fleming—Art Education, K–12 Art Licensure. Teaching Art at Oak Grove Elementary, Raleigh, NC.

Tamar Harris-Warren—Exhibition Design. Owner and director of M. Street Gallery, Flanders Art Gallery curator, Superintendent of Art & Photography Department for North Carolina State Fair, Art advisory board member, Program Assistant for Meredith College Paralegal Program and artist.

Jessica Kozuch—Graphic Design Concentration. Graphic Designer for PBS&J in Raleigh.

Abbey (Nelson) Clayton—Graphic Design Concentration. Graphic designer for Morgan Printer's in Greenville.

Gwyn (Rawls) Vermeulen—Art Education, K-12 Art Licensure. Currently living in her hometown of Kill Devil Hills, NC, working as a sales administrator at Resort Realty, and creates glass mosaics in her spare time. Gwyn is represented by the Kill Devil Hills Cooperative Gallery and Dare County Arts Council Gallery. Her goal is to transition to making mosaics full time. www.waveofcolormosaics.com.

Hunter Rion—Graphic Design Concentration. Went back and earned a teaching licence and is currently teaching art to 6th–8th graders at Fuquay-Varina Middle School.

Erika Spruill Corey—Studio Art Concentration. Gallery Manager, Tyndall Galleries at University Mall in Chapel Hill.

Emily (Munden) Mountford—Art Education, K-12 licensure. Assistant Principle for Instruction at Holly Springs High School.  Before that she taught Visual Arts at Fuquay Varina High School.  Emily received her Master's of School Administration from Campbell University. 

 

Mary Rose—Graphic Design Concentration. Senior Graphic Designer in the Office of Marketing and Communications at Meredith.

Emily Scott—Art Education, K–12 Art Licensure. Teaching art at Jordon High School in Durham.

Emily Soldin—Studio Art Concentration. Studio artist at Greenhouse Studios, Raleigh. Studio assistant at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts.

Class of 2000

Christie Evans Adams—Graphic Design Concentration. Worked for three years for Metro Publications as a graphic designer. Has just begun a new career teaching Art in a Franklin County Middle School.

Amy Mills Brown—Art Education, K–12 Art Education. Is a non-commissioned paratrooper squad leader in the US Army and an Honor graduate of the Army Art School. She is an illustrator with the US Army.

Ashlynn Browning—Studio Art Major. MFA at UNC-Greensboro, 2002.  Ashlynn is a member of Artspace and is represented by Flanders Art Gallery, both in Raleigh, NC.  She will be having a solo exhibition opening Sept. 5, 2008 at Flanders Art Gallery, as well as a concurrent exhibition at the Hallway Bathroom Gallery in San Francisco, CA.  www.ashlynnbrowning.com

Robin White Mangum—Art Education, K–12 Art Licensure. After-school program coordinator for Exploris Global Learning Center in Raleigh. Recently returned to Raleigh after working in the Education Department of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, NY.

Amy Weaver—minor in Art. Working as the Membership Coordinator at the Nasher Museum or Art at Duke University.

Kari Becker Beard—Graphic Design Concentration. Owns and operates SugarB Studio, a design studio in Washington, DC. www.sugarbstudio.com

Kitty Miller—Studio Art Concentration. MFA in Studio Art, Florida State University, 2002. Has been appointed visiting assistant professor at Allegheny College, PA, 2003–2004.

Class of 1998

Erika Sexton—Studio Art Concentration. MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in Textile Design. Is teaching High School in Richmond, VA.

Class of 1996

Class of 1995

Libby (Massengill) Anderson—Art Education, K–12. Graduated from University of Florida with MAMC (MA of Mass Communications) in Advertising in December 1998. She worked as PR coordinator at UF for 3.5 years; won Golden Gator Award for layout and design of annual report in 2001. Moved to Concord NC in August 2002 and is currently teach advertising at UNCC's Belk College of Business Administration, Department of Marketing (August 2002 to present).

Jennifer (Nunn) Hall—Graphic Design Concentration. Jennifer is co-owner / creative director / production manager of Crystal Coast Magazine (crystalcoastmagazine.com), an upscale lifestyles publication aimed at affluent residents of and visitors to Carteret County. This publication highlights fine dining, art, travel, real estate, people, and trends on the Crystal Coast. Jennifer also owns and operates imajen design. She has been nationally recognized with several design awards for her work.

Class of 1989

Sally Van Gorder—Studio Art Concentration. Spent 2002–2003 academic year teaching video editing in a High School in Qatar. She is participating in a Meredith Alumnae Exhibition in April 2004.

Class of 1978

Beth Wicker—Has a small gallery and workshop space outside of Cheraw, SC and teaches a range of classes and workshops including metals, jewelry, beginning art in a range of media including drawing, painting, printmaking, paper making, photography and fiber art. She is a juried member of the Artisans of the South Carolina Cotton Trail and co-president of the North Carolina Society of Goldsmiths. Beth has had work at a number of galleries and stores including the Drayton Hall Museum Shop outside of Charleston, and Gallery in the Vault in Wooster, Ohio. A complete list is on her web site. She has an MFA from the University of South Carolina, and has taught there, and is on the SC Approved Artist Roster. She has done residencies in schools throughout South Carolina for over 25 years and has work in collections around the world, and in museums.
