Mathmatics Placement

Students are required to take a course to build knowledge and skills in data analysis, abstract reasoning and problem solving-either MAT 245 (Statistics) or MAT 211 (Calculus). There is an additional general education elective which could be filled with a second math course.

MAT 245, Statistics I MAT 245 has no prerequisite.

MAT 211, Calculus I The prerequisite for MAT 211, Calculus I, is one of the following:

  • MAT 144 (Functions and Graphs)
  • MAT 141 (College Algebra) and MAT 143 (Trigonomentry)
  • Permission of the math department
