WINGS
The WINGS (Women In New Goal Settings) student organization is open to all Meredith students but targets nontraditional students. The purpose of WINGS is to provide information, fellowship, support, leadership opportunities, and advocacy for all nontraditional students, and to liaison with the campus community on issues of concern. The group meets monthly and holds annual events such as WING Ding, graduate pinning ceremony, and Silver Bells.
Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASL)
Alpha Sigma Lambda is an honor society devoted to the advancement of scholarship and recognition of nontraditional students in the top 10% of their class, holding a 3.2 GPA and 24 credit hours (with at least 12 in the Liberal Arts/Sciences) completed at Meredith College in an undergraduate program. The annual fall induction ceremony occurs during National Nontraditional Student Week.
Nontraditional Student Week
Nontraditional Student Week is a national program designated to recognize adult students in higher education during the first week of November. At Meredith College, annual events have included the ASL induction, WINGS walk, coffee break, and WINGS group march in the Cornhuskin’ parade.
Other Organizations
Adult students may want to become involved in some of the nearly 100 campus organizations addressing academic, politics, honors, service, religion and professional interests. Visit Student Leadership and Service to learn more.
