General Eduation Cirriculum Program
Our academic program starts with an innovative general education cirriculum—an ambitious attempt to give every student a firm foundation in interdisciplinary study, world citizenship and scholarly research. the cirriculum spans academic disciplines, teaches students specialized modes of thinking and encourages awareness of other cultures. It also provides opportunities for active learning, community service and leadership—the hallmarks of a Meredith education.
We offer more than 40 majors and 29 areas of concentration and all can be completed in four years. Each allows students to pursue intensivestudy, develop independent research and work closely with professors. our programs offer internships, field work and service learning opportunities. Theresult is a focused education deepened by real-world experience. Another result: graduates who find meaninigful work. in our most recent survey of meredith graduates, 98 percent of the respondents had secured jobs or begun undergraduate study within nine months of graduation.
Our professors are leaders in their fields—and on campus. They win national and international awards, grants and fellowships; they bring work experience into the classroom; they lead conferences, conduct research, publish books and collaborate with students. They're artisits, administrators, lawyers, executives, scholars, scientists—as always they're exceptional teachers. our students know them as friends, as advisers, as mentors. Two key reasons: Meredith boasts a 10:1 student-faculty ratio and an average undergraduate class size of 16.
