Meredith College seeks to maintain an environment that is supportive of all faiths and ideals. The College Chaplain provides guidance for the development of religious programs on the campus as well as a pastoral presence for the campus community. She also seeks to engage the campus community in meaningful social issues--poverty, issues of race, interfaith understanding, and women's issues--knowing that God calls us to live out our faith in ways that better our world.

Chaplain, Rev. Stacy Pardue, is available to the Meredith community for counseling pertaining to religious questions, religious vocations, and personal issues. The ministerial staff offers lectures, service opportunities, small group and counseling opportunities for the campus at large.

Meredith offers weekly worship services on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in Jones Chapel called "The Gathering". These services are informal, interactive and infused with creative arts. Students seeking help in finding a place for Sunday worship in the Raleigh community may contact the Chaplain's office. The Chaplain publishes a Worship Communities Booklet with information about area churches, mosques and synagogues which is given to all freshmen in August.

The Chaplain is the staff liaison for the Meredith Christian Association and the Interfaith Council. MCA is an interdenominational Christian fellowship group that values Bible study, Christian service and meaningful fellowship. The Interfaith Council serves as a catalyst for interfaith dialogue and understanding.
